Who, How and What Frequently Asked Questions

Who?

How many people can hop on board?

Our bike seats a total of 14 people! You’ll need at least five people in your party to book the whole bike. You can rent by the seat for specialty public tours. Come by yourself, bring a date, or get the whole family on board for some serious fun.

What are the age, height or weight requirements to ride?

If you’re 5’3” tall, you’ll be able to reach the pedals without a hitch. If you’re shorter than that, scoot onto a bench seat and let everyone else sweat. If there are at least 5 pedallers aboard, children who can sit alone, securely buckled in a seat are welcome!
Our bike manufacturer recommends a 300 lb. maximum weight per person, per seat. Anyone who weighs more than that needs to head for a non-pedaling bench seat, which costs the equivalent of two normal seats. We want everyone to come, be comfortable and ride safely!

Is the bike hard to pedal?

Not a bit, and there are two reasons for that. The whole group of pedallers gets a nice pace going, and our electric assist throws in the extra muscle. Before you know it, the bike will be at max cruising speed of 5 mph. If the whole lot of you runs out of gas before the ride is over, we’ll put ‘er in auto and cruise on!

I can't pedal. Can I still come?

You are still welcome to ride! There are four non-pedaling seats up for grabs on every tour.

Who should be taking this party bike out for a spin?

The Magic Pedal Company is proud to offer a truly one-of-a-kind outdoor good time for individuals who are tired of the standard park picnic or stroll through the shops. We are also perfect for groups who have a special day to celebrate. Our party is spot-on for people planning: Quick Couples’ Getaways/Date Night Fun, Birthday Parties, Singles’ Mixers, Corporate Team Building Activities, Anniversaries, Tailgating Get-Togethers, Company Parties, Bar Crawls, Parade Entries (Use the bike as the group’s float!) AND Quality Time with the Kids.

Who shouldn't rent the party bike?

Anyone who hates fun and loathes excitement. All who wish to remain indoors, in a recliner, looking at walls. Anyone who is resistant to memory-making and strengthening new and old friendships. There are plenty of businesses that would rent a blank conference room for you to look at the ceiling in, for a fee of course

How?

Cost? How long do we ride?

$400 gets up to 14 people an unforgettable bonding experience (not to mention some really cool selfies)! You’ll have the whole bike for two hours. Prefer a shorter ride? Book 75 minutes for $295! For public tours, grab your single seat for $29. Call us to see what it would cost to do a specially customized ride. We are as creative as you are! Contact us for a quote!

How do we pay?

Have one person in the group reserve the whole bike and pay, or let each rider reserve a seat for the same date and time. As long as you sync the date and time, your group will be good to go together. Pay using any major credit card or with Google Pay.

Is there a waiver to sign?

Your booking confirmation email will hook you up! There you’ll find a link to a waiver which ALL individuals in your group will be required to sign. If you’re the person making the reservation for the group, make sure each person gets that link. Let us know at 330-328-6757 if you don’t get the confirmation email with the link and we will correct this.

Do I have to wear a helmet?

Helmets aren’t required, but they ARE allowed. If you want to bring one from home, knock yourself out. We put safety first. Our bike doesn’t go over 5 mph, you’re buckled in, and our drivers are keeping a watch over the whole process from start to finish. However, we can’t control everything. As with any other bike ride, if you do daring deeds or fail to keep your seat belt on, you could be assuming a risk.

How early should I come?

We need you here 20 minutes before your scheduled ride. We’ll have to look over the waivers and get everyone buckled in, and we want to leave promptly at your reserved ride time. You’ll be as eager as we are to get the party started! If you’re running late for any reason, there’s a day-of-reservation phone number to call in your confirmation email. Staff will let you know what to do.

Where do I go to get on the bike?

We embark and disembark at the same place: The Pregame Tavern! (105 2nd St. NW, Barberton, OH)

What happens if I’m late?

Private tours:: If you’ve booked the whole bike for a private tour, we’ll wait until your entire party arrives. Unfortunately, it could cut into your total ride time as we must end the tour at the scheduled time to keep all our other reservations on track.

Specialty Tours: If it’s a public ride, you’ll miss the boat, er, bike. If we have five pedallers we will be off on the tour without you. There are no refunds. We will be sorry, but on our way. It’s only fair to the other riders.

What is the weather policy?

Regardless of the weather, you can count on us! You’ll enjoy an overhead canopy, so rain, snow, you name it…we’re riding. BE SURE to dress accordingly. However, in the case of severe/unsafe weather (rare), we’ll cancel and you’ll get a full refund. If we have to cut your ride short, we’ll compensate you for time lost.

What if I have to cancel?

Life happens to us all. We get it! If something unexpected keeps you from honoring your reservation, we will work with you.

Private tours: If you’ve booked a private tour, we’ll reschedule (excluding blackout dates) or give you your money back (if you call us at least seven days in advance). We will assess a $15 cancellation fee. If you cancel less than seven days in advance we can still refund you (less the fee) IF we can get another group to go in your time slot.

Public tours: If you make a reservation for a seat on a public tour but then have to back out, we’ll reschedule you! If you want a full refund instead, as long as we have five riders left on the tour (so that it isn’t cancelled), we’ll get that done! No money back if your absence cancels the tour.

One reschedule allowed per person or group.

What Else?

Do you play music?

Our sound system is the best and includes a quality microphone. Bring your family-friendly playlist and let’s get this party started. Our ride features a great TV too! Bring your camera and takes lots of pictures too!

Are we allowed to bring alcohol on the bike? If so, how much?

Over 21? You AND your own alcohol may come! The only glass we’ll let you bring is that in wine bottles and growlers. You’ll have to pour into a cup to imbibe on the bike. Each passenger is allowed to have 18 ounces of wine and 36 ounces of beer at any one time on their person while on the bike. (Stops at sponsor bars can facilitate a personal re-stock during the tour.) Please imbibe only on the bike itself. Don’t take open containers with you at any of our stops. You may not bring liquor or Jell-o shots, nor may you bring mixed drinks or prepare them aboard the bike. We’d really prefer you bring cans!

A little recap: WE DO NOT SELL ANY ALCOHOL but riders of legal drinking age can bring their own.

Are costumes/elaborate dress allowed?

But of course! How else would you pull off a really great themed pedal party or custom tour?? Take length into consideration…you don’t want your clothes wrapped around bike pedals.

I want to decorate the bike. Is that ok?

Absolutely! Get crazy with your family-friendly décor. Make sure you can hand-tie it all to the bike and that bike function and rider safety is not compromised by it. You can’t cover our signage, either. You’ll be surprised how cute your balloons, streamers and blow-up décor looks on the party bike and how much it adds to the feeling of celebration.

Can I plan a route and tour that does what I want it to do?

Let us marry our creativity to yours! Give us an idea of what you want and we’ll put our heads together with local vendors and businesses to give you the ride of your dreams! We’ll plan it out and give you a price quote to consider.

Can we request a specific driver?

If the staff driver you like has a schedule that dovetails with your planned ride, we’ll do our best to make it happen. If we can get you the driver you’ve asked for, we will add an 18% gratuity.

Can we tip our driver?

Our drivers make it their business to keep you safe while ensuring you have a blast. If you want to show your appreciation with a tip, go for it! Customer satisfaction is a priority.

Are gift certificates available?

Yes indeed! Click here to purchase a gift certificate for $50, $100, $200 or any amount of your choosing.
